Best 3 private dining rooms in Melbourne for Executive Roundtables
As arguably the best city in Australia for dining, Melbourne’s hospitality industry is back with a vengeance after enduring the world’s longest lockdowns.
Boasting better service than Sydney (sorry, but it’s true) and a much richer cultural pallete of dining options, Melbourne has some fantastic options for private dining rooms suitable for executive roundtables… even if they are as limited in numbers as Sydney.
Here are three of my favourite PDR’s in Melbourne, which have all been chosen with my 5 key factors in mind. Check these out here if you missed them.
1. Bottega Restaurant
A classic in my favourite part of Melbourne’s CBD, Bottega’s upstairs private dining room features windows and a leafy outlook over Bourke street.
The service here is outstanding and the space is large enough to fit up to 26 guests on 1 table.
I particularly love the service of family-style sides, encouraging interaction and casual conversation between your guests.
The Stats:
PDR Capacity: 26 on one table
Cuisine: Italian
Location: CBD
Pros: Natural light, location, service
2. Rosetta
Perhaps the most beautiful private dining room in Melbourne, the Rosetta PDR basks in stunning artwork and natural light.
Previously a Neil Perry restaurant, Rosetta Melbourne endures while the Sydney restaurant was closed in 2020.
Outside of the amazing surrounds, the restaurant features an accessible modern Australian menu while also being centrally located in the popular Southbank precinct.
The Stats:
PDR Capacity: 20 on one table
Cuisine: Italian
Location: Southbank
Pros: Location, natural light, guest experience
3. Rockpool Bar & Grill
I know, I’m re-using a restaurant, but I wouldn’t if it wasn’t earned! Sister to Sydney’s Rockpool, the Melbourne venue also features multiple private dining rooms.
Check out my Sydney restaurant recommendations for more details on Rockpool.
The Stats:
PDR Capacity: 20 on one table
Cuisine: Modern Australian
Location: Southbank
Pros: Cuisine, service
So these are the good, but there’s also the bad… and the just plain ugly.
Talk to me before you pick a venue so I can let you know if you’re making a mistake!
